This 54 mm miniature represents a Balloon Observer from the First World War (1914–1918). Balloon observers were assigned to tethered observation balloons to identify enemy troop movements and direct artillery fire. High on the front lines, they communicated via telegraph cables or radio with ground forces below.

This figure is pre-painted (artist unknown) and mounted on a custom wooden display base crafted for stable display.
