Ashigaru – Japanese Foot Soldier, Sengoku Period

This miniature represents an Ashigaru — the backbone foot soldier of Japan’s Sengoku (Warring States) period (c. 1467–1603). Often recruited from commoner households, Ashigaru formed disciplined formations under samurai leadership, wielding spear (yari), arquebus (tanegashima), or bow depending on clan and campaign.

During the rise of great daimyo such as Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Ashigaru evolved into highly trained soldiers who played decisive roles in unifying Japan.

This figure is cast in high-quality white metal (tin) and hand-painted using layered shading, fine line detailing, and natural color gradation to create realism in armor, cloth, and weaponry. The miniature is mounted on a display-ready scenic base, suitable for collections and showcases.
